Extras

Need extra hands?

For larger moves or homes with challenging access, additional moving team members maybe required. Many hands make light work.

Don’t pay more for travel than you have to

Travel time

We will offer zero travel time for customers within a 12km radius of our base.

Moves outside this radius may incur a fixed travel cost – we will talk to you more about this when we chat about your move.

Many removalists charge depot to depot travel no matter where you are.

Ferry vehicles

More and more in Sydney a ferry vehicle is required to transport your belongings from where we can park the truck to where we can enter your property. The loading dock can often be a long way from the lift. We can provide a ute or a van, depending on what is needed to speed up the loading or unloading of your move.

Getting you from A to B faster…

Tolls

This is a way that we can save you money, to get from your old home to your new home quicker, a toll road may be the best way to go.

We would only take a toll road if it meant a saving for you. Sometimes this makes all the difference in getting your move completed quicker. You don’t want to pay for us to sit in traffic! However, we’re happy to not take toll roads at your request – please let us know.

Toll charges will be added to your final bill.

We don’t ever charge on the Harbour Bridge or Tunnel.

Cranes, wines and automobiles…

Special requests

On occasion some of our clients need us to go above and beyond what we usually do… bring it on!

From hoisting statues on a crane, to moving a grand piano, a precious art collection and your fabulous wine cellar – we can manage it all – just leave it up to us.

We will make an appointment to come to your home and discuss your requirements.

Packing

Does the thought of packing up feel overwhelming? Look no further…

Packing

Trustworthy, fully trained professional packers will carefully pack up the contents of your home which can include:

  • Kitchen

  • Precious and fragile items

  • Wardrobes

  • Bathrooms

  • General possessions

  • Artwork

  • Books

For a full pack of a one to three bedroom home we would tend to use 2 packers.

For four bed homes and above we find that it is usually better to use additional packers

For a kitchen only pack, 1 person is often enough

As every move is different, we can cater for whatever you need.

Materials are charged in addition, depending on how much is used.

Boxes are available on a rental basis to significantly lower the cost of your move.

See our materials price list below.

Unpacking

Our packing team will carefully unpack your possessions into your new home for you

  • Full kitchen set up - with organising your pantry and cupboards – we can even fill up your fridge!

  • Hang up your clothes in the wardrobes and fold them into drawers

  • Unpack your books and put on the shelves

  • Linen cupboard organising

  • If it’s in a box – we can find a home for it

If it’s not possible to do full unpack on moving day – we can definitely get your beds put up and kitchen unpacked – to make your first night a comfortable one. We can then come back the next day and get the rest done for you.

3 person lift for a single item

Our team of lifting specialists have seen it all before. We will assess each lift on its own merit, before going ahead to minimise risk to the lifters, your item and to the property.

  • Under 70kgs

Each additional lifter

Extra lifters will be required when:

We offer competitive rates depending on your needs. Please call us today, we are happy to give you a quote.

Boxes

We only use the best quality, double ply, industry standard cartons. They offer strong protection as well as lasting longer to minimise our effect on the environment.

Book / Crystal Carton

$5 to buy, $2 to rent

(403mmx301mmx330mm)

These boxes are ideal for books, crockery, glassware, heavier pantry items and paperwork. We suggest using butchers’ paper or bubble wrap to protect anything fragile.

Port-A-Robe

$25 to buy, $10 to rent

(595mmx479mmx1106mm)

Move your hanging clothes without the need to re-iron. However, these boxes are not a one-trick pony and they are ideal for large misshapen items, like doll’s house and the last minute sheets an doonas’ from your beds.

Book / Wine Carton

$4.50 to buy

(406mmx298mmx431mm)

Slightly taller than Book /Crystal, these boxes are ideal as the name suggests for storing wine and spirits. Bottles can be wrapped in butchers’ paper and bubble wrap for protection. 12 bottle polystyrene inserts are available but are not suitable for all bottle sizes ($15 each)

Tea Chest Carton

$6 to buy, $2 to rent

(406mmx431mmx595mm)

Tea Chests aka ‘standards’ are perfect for larger and lighter items; pots, pans, appliances, lighter pantry items, clothes, shoes, linen and toys. Also great for making spaceships for the kids.

Flat Wine Carton

$6 to buy

(490mmx325mmx165mm)

These boxes have 2 cardboard inserts each taking 6 standard bottles of wine. These bottles are stored flat. Unfortunately, larger or non-standard wine bottles will not fit and will need to be packed in a Book/Wine Carton

Other materials

Packing / Butchers Paper

$30 — 5kgs (S)

$45 — 7.5kgs (M)

$90 — 15kgs (L)

You buy this by weight and it’s available in 3 size bundles.

Pigment free butchers’ paper is perfect for wrapping your fragile items in the kitchen and throughout your home. From wrapping crockery to cutlery, glassware to glass bottles this paper provides great protection. A few sheets of crushed paper in the top and bottom of a box provides even greater protection.

Kraft Wrap

$5 per metre

(1500mm)

Bubble film with Kraft paper backing for use on acrylic paintings, which with prolonged contact with normal bubble wrap could be damaged. Alternatively, this could be used on leather or wooden furniture to avoid mould growth if any moisture is present. We use this material as part of our fine art packing service.

Removals plastics

$10 each

(Various sizes available)

Mainly used to protect mattresses, lounges and occasional chairs during moving. Also, to protect against dust whilst in storage or to protect against rain on a rainy moving day. Our trucks are immaculately clean, and we will wrap items in blankets – these plastics are for added protection.

Packing Tape

$3.50

(75m roll)

It’s taken years of trial and error but we finally found a tape that is both robust and sticky! Rolls from the $1 shop tend to be neither. There is nothing worse than carrying a box and the bottom falls out because of defective tape. We suggest using brown tape as you can write on this in marker and it is clearly visible and once removed – the box is ready to be reused.

Bubble Wrap

$1 per metre — 500mm

$3 per metre — 1500mm

The small bubble wrap is best used in conjunction with butcher paper for protecting smaller delicate items and picture frames.

The large bubble wrap is great for larger glass-fronted framed pictures or mirrors. It can also be used for protecting larger lamps, vases and statues.
